We’re so pleased to see Here Comes the Sun and A Double Shot of Happiness in the bestsellers, as we held wonderful events for both books last week, and have received some lovely feedback from both nights. It’s not an exaggeration to say that at both book launches we laughed, cried and were really made to think about how lucky we really are. If you haven’t read either book, may we gently suggest you remedy that immediately. See some pics from Judy and Tim Sharp’s launch here.

Coming in just behind is the Miles Franklin Award-winning The Eye of the Sheep, the gorgeous and inspiring new collection of creative spaces from the folks at Frankie Magazine and yet more Adult Colouring Books.

The excitement keeps growing for our upcoming Open Bookclub with Chigozie Obioma, and if the reviews about the book we’re already getting from customers are anything to go by, it should be a cracker of a night. Remember, you don’t have to be a Open Bookclub member to attend, but you should book online. This will be a fantastic night for writers and readers both!

Our Books of the Month are still selling strongly, with a reminder that Stephanie Bishop will be in-store this Thursday to launch her extraordinary novel The Other Side of the World. Book in now! Judd Apatow still hasn’t contacted us on Twitter yet, but we’ll keep tagging him into these bestseller lists and see what happens…

And finally, perennial classic To Kill A Mockingbird rounds out the list, for reasons you can probably guess. We madly refreshed our browsers last Friday at 2.01pm to read the first chapter of Go Set A Watchman, the hugely anticipated prequel/sequel (depending how you look at it) from Harper Lee. Don’t forget the book will be for sale at Avid Reader at 9.01am tomorrow. Get in and get reading!

A look at the unsung editor who turned Harper Lee’s manuscript for Go Set a Watchman into To Kill a Mockingbird.
